Each year the Ashburn Women’s Club holds the Miss Fire Ant Pageant in conjunction with the Fire Ant Festival. A Tiny Miss, Little Miss and Miss Fire Ant are chosen to represent the Fire Ant Festival at various events throughout the year including the annual Christmas Parade in Ashburn.

This year’s pageant is Thursday at 7p.m. at the Civic Center.

The contestants are as follows: Miss Fire Ant: Erica Tippins, daughter of Cliff and Kansas Tippins; Taylor Miller, daughter of Chuck and Connie Majeski and Ricky Miller; Laurel Bell, daughter of Michael and Lori Shirah, Shonteciara Cushion, daughter of Tasha Martin and Billy Cushion, and Kaitlyn Elliot, daughter of Randy and Dawn Elliot.
